There's a free trial, and you should use it

Keen Bean runs free for 14 days with nothing held back — no card, no email, no account. Trying it in a real meeting tells you more than any refund policy can. The refund exists for the case where something only goes wrong after you've paid.

How to ask

• Email [email protected] from the address you bought with, or quote your Paddle order reference.
• Or contact Paddle directly — they are the merchant of record and can process it without me.

Refunds go back to the original payment method. Paddle handles the money; how long it takes to appear is up to your bank, usually a few working days.

What happens to your licence

Here is the honest part, because it is unusual and you should know it before you buy.

A Keen Bean licence is a signed file that your Mac verifies on its own, without checking in with us. That is what lets the app keep working offline and keep working if we disappear — and it also means we cannot switch a licence off after issuing it. When you take a refund, I ask you to stop using the app and delete the key. That request is on trust, and it works because the sort of person who buys software like this is generally not the sort who steals it.

I'd rather tell you that than pretend at an enforcement we don't have.

There's nothing to cancel

Keen Bean is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is no recurring charge, no account, and nothing to remember to cancel. Your licence includes twelve months of updates; after that the app keeps working forever on the version you have, and renewing is an optional purchase you make only if you want the newer versions.

So "cancelling" just means not renewing. Doing nothing costs nothing.

After 30 days

The no-questions window closes, but I'm not going to hide behind a date if something is genuinely wrong. If the app doesn't do what this website says it does, write to me and we'll sort it out.

Your rights under Australian law

Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other consumer protection law that applies to you. Those rights exist in addition to this policy, they cannot be excluded, and where they give you more than the 30 days above, they win.

Who you're buying from

Keen Bean is made by Savvy Monkey in Australia. Purchases are sold and fulfilled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record, so Paddle is the seller on your receipt and the party handling payment and tax.
