Privacy
The whole list, not the reassuring version. If any of this turns out to be wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.
The short version. Your meetings never reach us. Audio goes from your Mac straight to Deepgram and transcript text straight to the model provider — no server of ours sits in between. While you're subscribed those calls run on keys we provision for you, so we can see how much they spend, which is how your allowance is metered. We can't see what was said. We also receive your licence key when the app checks for updates. That is the complete list of what touches anything of ours.

Nothing else. There is no crash reporting, no analytics, and no background reporting of what you do in the app.
About the transcription and model providers
While you're subscribed, those calls run on keys the app provisions for you on our Deepgram and OpenRouter accounts. Your audio and transcripts still go there directly from your Mac — we run no proxy, and no copy passes through us. What those providers retain is governed by their terms, not ours; worth reading if your meetings are sensitive.
Because the keys are on our accounts, their usage dashboards show us what each key has spent — minutes transcribed and tokens used. That is how the allowance in the app is metered, and it is a quantity, never content. Cancel and the keys are revoked; supply your own and the accounts, bills and retention terms are entirely yours again.
About the licence key
The update service needs to know a request is from someone entitled to updates, so the app sends the key with the check. We can see which licence asked and when. We cannot see anything about your meetings, because nothing about them is ever sent.
What stays on your Mac
Everything else: transcripts, cards, drafts, screenshots, summaries, the API keys themselves, project links, settings. They are ordinary files in a folder you can open.
Meeting notes are Markdown. Sessions are plain JSON. Both open in any text editor, and both outlive the app — if Keen Bean disappeared tomorrow, nothing you made with it would become unreadable.
This website
No cookies we set, and no tracking pixels. Google Fonts serves two typefaces. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits, without cookies and without building a profile of you. Paddle's checkout script loads only when you click to subscribe, and sets its own cookies under its privacy notice. Nothing of ours on this site attempts to identify you.
If you subscribe
Payments are handled by Paddle, who act as the merchant of record — the seller on the receipt is Paddle, not Savvy Monkey. They collect the name, email and payment details needed to take the payment and handle tax, under their own privacy notice. We receive your name and email so we can issue your licence, provision your keys, and find your subscription if you write to us about it. We never see your card details.
Recording other people
Keen Bean transcribes conversations, and the law about that differs by country and — in Australia — by state. Telling the people in your meeting is your responsibility, not something software can do for you. The app asks you to confirm they know, once per meeting, and Pause takes you off the record whenever you need it.
Deleting things
Deleting a meeting from the Meetings list removes it and its screenshots for good. That is the only action in the app that truly deletes — dismissing a card, parking it, or distilling a board only changes what you are shown.
To have your subscription record removed from our side once it has ended, email me and I'll do it. There is no form, because there is not enough data for one to be worth building.
